A Recent Bathroom Repair
Not every bathroom job starts with fittings and finishes — sometimes it starts with a problem behind the tiles.
We were called out to a bathroom where the grout around the tiled area had deteriorated and come away, allowing water to get in behind the tiles over time. By the time the affected area was opened up, the water had reached the insulation inside the wall and the ceiling below.
We stripped out the damaged area, removed the affected tiles and materials, and rebuilt the wall — fitting cement board, preparing the surface with plaster and PVA, and re-tiling once everything underneath was sound again. The bathroom was finished and back in use.
It's a good example of what a bathroom renovation can actually involve — not just choosing new tiles, but dealing properly with whatever's found once the old ones come off.
