What this service includes
Carpentry work we take on
Carpentry is where a renovation either looks finished or does not. We take on first fix framing and second fix joinery, along with bespoke pieces built to suit awkward alcoves and older properties where nothing is square.
Most of our carpentry work is in Victorian and post war South London homes, so we are used to matching existing mouldings and working around walls that are anything but straight.
- Doors
- Internal and external doors hung, with locks, handles, closers and adjustments.
- Mouldings
- Skirting, architrave, dado and picture rail supplied and fitted, matched to existing profiles.
- Fitted storage
- Alcove units, wardrobes, shelving and understairs storage built to measure.
- Stud walls
- New partitions, openings framed out, and ceilings boarded ready for plaster.
- Staircases
- Repairs to treads and spindles, new handrails, balustrades and creaking stairs fixed.
- Timber repairs
- Window sills, frames, gates, decking and rotten sections cut out and replaced.

View all reviewsThe alcove shelving was measured on site and fits perfectly, which was never going to happen with something off the shelf.

FAQs
Carpentry questions
If your question is not covered here, call or send a message and we will answer it directly.
- Do you build fitted furniture on site?
- Yes. Alcove units and wardrobes are built and scribed on site so they fit walls that are out of square, then painted or finished to match the room.
- Can you match old skirting profiles?
- In most cases we can find a close match from stock profiles. Where the original is unusual we can have it machined to match.
- Do you fit doors supplied by the customer?
- Yes. We can hang doors you have bought, supply them ourselves, or a mix of both across a property.
- Is a stud wall a big job?
- A single partition is usually one to two days for the framing and boarding, plus plastering and decorating afterwards. We can price the whole sequence together.
