The work
Everything came out back to bare walls. Supply and waste pipework was re-run for the new layout, wet areas were tanked, then the walls and floor were tiled and the new suite fitted.
The result
A straightforward, properly waterproofed bathroom with a walk in shower, tiled walls and floor, and everything sealed and tested.

- Do you waterproof the shower area before tiling?
- Yes. Wet areas are tanked over a suitable board or substrate before any tile goes on, which is what stops water tracking behind the tiles later.
- Can the bathroom layout be changed?
- Usually yes. Supply and waste pipework can be re-run to move the shower, basin or toilet, within what the existing soil and waste positions allow.
- Do you supply the tiles and sanitaryware or do I?
- Either. Many customers choose their own suite and tiles and we fit them, or we can price supply and fit together.
- How long is a bathroom out of use?
- A full refit is normally a matter of days rather than weeks, depending on tiling and drying times. We confirm the programme before starting.
- Do you clear away the old suite and tiles?
- Yes. Strip out, disposal and a clean finish at the end are part of the job.
