What the job involved

The challenge

The family had run out of usable space downstairs and wanted the back of the house opened up rather than kept as separate small rooms.

The work

Foundations were dug and poured, brickwork and blockwork built up and the roof structure formed. A steel beam was then installed to carry the wall above the new opening.

The result

A single open living space running from the original room into the extension, plastered and ready for decoration and flooring.

Do you handle the groundworks as well as the building?: Yes. Foundations, drainage adjustments and groundworks are carried out alongside the brickwork, blockwork and roof so the job runs as one project.
How long is a single storey extension on site?: It depends on the size, access and specification. We give a realistic programme with the quote once we have seen the property.
Is the extension left ready to decorate?: It can be. Plastering and making good are included where asked, and we can also carry on with flooring, decorating and second fix.
