The project

What the job involved

The challenge

Years of fixings and knocks had left the walls patchy, and the room felt dark with dated lighting and yellowed woodwork.

The work

Damaged areas were filled and sanded flat, the ceiling and coving were cut in first, then walls and woodwork were painted. New light fittings went in once the paint had dried.

The result

A clean, bright reception room with flat walls, crisp white woodwork and lighting that suits how the room is used.

FAQs

Lounge Redecoration and Lighting questions

If your question is not covered here, call or send a message and we will answer it directly.

Is preparation included or charged separately?
Preparation is part of the job. Filling, sanding and making good are what decide how the finished paint looks, so they are never skipped.
Can we stay in the property while decorating is carried out?
Usually yes. Furniture and floors are sheeted and we work room by room so the property stays liveable.
Do you paint ceilings, coving and woodwork as well as walls?
Yes. Ceilings and coving are cut in first, then walls, then woodwork such as skirting, architrave and doors.
Can new light fittings be installed at the same time?
Yes. Fitting lighting alongside decorating avoids marking fresh paint later and is a common part of these jobs.
Do you decorate rental properties between tenancies?
Yes. Full redecoration between tenancies is regular work for us across Croydon and South London.
